Janus Q2 2026: Self-storage new construction surges 20% on Kiwi acquisition but margin compression deepens as commercial drag and cost inflation cut Adjusted EBITDA 18%

Janus International's Q2 2026 results reveal a bifurcated business: self-storage revenues rose 15.4% year-over-year, powered largely by the January 2026 Kiwi II Construction acquisition ($19.2 million contribution), while commercial and other revenues fell 21.2% on weak sheet door demand. The margin story is more concerning — Adjusted EBITDA margin contracted 430 basis points year-over-year to 17.2%, driven by cost inflation outpacing organic revenue growth, elevated restructuring charges, and rising amortization from the Kiwi acquisition. Management lowered the midpoint of full-year 2026 Adjusted EBITDA guidance to a 4.9% decline year-over-year while maintaining revenue guidance, signaling that the second half must deliver meaningful sequential margin recovery to validate the annual range.
